May Round-up
May was another busy month at Dads Rock, with groups, workshops, trips and events taking place across Scotland as we continued supporting dads and families in local communities💛 It’s been brilliant seeing so many families getting involved, making connections and spending time together throughout the month🙌 We also did a blog for mental health awareness week about supporting friends through tough times - if you missed it you can catch up here: Mental Health
One of the highlights was our family trip to the zoo, where dads, children and families came together for a fun day out exploring, chatting and making memories together🦒Trips like these are such a great opportunity for families to connect, enjoy time outdoors and meet other parents in a relaxed and supportive environment❤️
Another highlight from May was our fire station visit, where families had the chance to explore the station, meet firefighters and learn more about the important work they do🚒It was a brilliant day out and a great experience for both dads and children alike☀️
We were incredibly honoured this month to receive over £3,600 raised by the Bellahouston Park Run team in memory of Calum McNab💛 The support, generosity and kindness shown through this fundraiser means so much to everyone at Dads Rock, and we’re extremely grateful to every single person who took part, donated and helped make it happen. To have funds raised in Calum’s memory in support of dads and families is truly special, and we’re very thankful to have been chosen as part of something so meaningful❤️
Our Ayrshire dads also did us proud this month by taking on the Leith Distillery abseil challenge and raising over £2,000 for Dads Rock💪🏙️ We’re so grateful to everyone who stepped outside their comfort zone, took part and supported the fundraiser along the way. Their effort, bravery and generosity will help us continue supporting dads and families across Scotland, and we can’t thank them enough for everything they’ve done❤️
