Reflections from our 2026 Annual Survey

At Dads Rock, we believe that children thrive when dads thrives - that’s at the heart of everything we do. As we look back on the feedback from our 2026 Annual Survey, we are overwhelmed by the stories of resilience, connection, and growth from the dads, mums, partners, and professionals who make up our community.

Here is a look at what you told us about the impact of our work this year.

A Lifeline for Dads

For many men, walking through our doors is the first step toward realising they aren’t alone in the challenges of fatherhood. Dads reported that our groups and activities provide a non-judgmental space to discuss everyday frustrations and mental health.

  • Mental Health: Dads highlighted that their mental health has improved since attending our sessions.

  • Connection: One dad shared, "I've made friends, bonded with my son, and we have a regular weekly activity to look forward to." another added, Just meeting and spending time with other Dads, especially those with children of a similar age, is really good for my general mental health. We can share problems, discuss everyday frustrations, support each other."

  • Confidence: Many noted an increase in their motivation and resilience as parents.

Supporting the Whole Family

While our focus is on "Dads" and it’s in our name, our impact reaches every member of the household. Mums and partners consistently rated Dads Rock’s positive impact on their family life as a 5/5.

The cost of living crisis remains a heavy burden for many families. We are proud that 100% of responding mums agreed that Dads Rock helped alleviate this stress through our free workshops, playgroup snacks, and family trips. As one partner noted, "The first aid course was helpful to me and my kids; if I had to pay for this myself, I couldn't afford it".

The Heart of Dads Rock - Our awesome team

We were moved to see so much praise for our dedicated staff team. Referrers from the NHS and the Third Sector described our staff as "vital assets" who are "passionate, friendly, and inclusive", whilst one dad said, “You are all amazing and brilliant and I am super grateful for all that you do!!!”

Professionals noted that our team excels at building trust with vulnerable dads who might otherwise find it difficult to engage with support services. One Referrer said, "Dad's Rock is offering a vital service to young men in the community empowering them to be the best dads they can possibly be."

Looking to the Future

Your feedback helps us plan our growth 🙌 We’ve heard your calls for:

  • Expanding our reach to support more dads and families across Scotland.

  • Bridging the gap for male mental health support, where NHS wait times can reach 18 months.

  • Working in partnership with other organisations to keep asking for better parental leave and mental health support for new dads.

Thank you to everyone who took the time to share their voice. Whether you attended an antenatal workshop in Glasgow, joined us for a fire station visit in Dundee, came to a group in Ayrshire or simply came along for a coffee and a chat in Edinburgh, you are what makes Dads Rock.

Together, we’re making sure no dad has to walk the path of parenthood alone. 🎸
