We’re adjusting to the shorter days and longer nights but there’s still lots going on for dads and wee ones at Dads Rock this November.🍂🍁
It’s time for our AGM so we’ve been reflecting on our work and pulling together some highlights to share with you all! See below for details and we hope to see lots of you there with some food and drinks afterwards 🥳 You can sign up here: AGM

AGM and night out Saturday 14th November 5pm onwards
Groups
If you are wanting to spend some quality time with your wee one(s) and chat with some other local dads, our groups are the place for you.
Most groups run every week but it’s always worth checking the calendar to make sure it’s on.

North Ayrshire: In Irvine we have weekly groups for Dads and their children on Sundays at 10.30am and the Three Towns Dads Group is on Wednesdays at 6.30pm🚴
Glasgow: In Maryhill we have a playgroup on every Saturday and NEW in South Glasgow Tuesday morning for dads and under 2s - both groups start at 10am 🐝
Edinburgh: In Gorgie we run playgroups every Saturday and Sunday at 10am. On Tuesday evening at 7pm is our Dads and Dice group - a games night for Dads with or without their babies🌻
Dundee: Saturdays we’re at the Boomerang Centre 10am🥁
East Ayrshire: Join us in the Baby Sensory Room, My5s Football, Kilmarnock. Monday’s from 6pm🫧

Trips
This month is the Dads Rock AGM! Saturday 14th November 5pm at the Gorgie Mem. Come along in person and enjoy some food in the hall followed by a night out after the meeting – or join the AGM online if you can’t make it in person. At the AGM we’ll share highlights from the year, review our accounts, update our constitution and elect trustees – plus it’s a chance to ask questions and help shape our future. Workshops
We run free workshops regularly in our different locations across Scotland. There are a range of topics that we cover and this month we will be running:
Dads Antenatal - Join us on Thursday 12th November 7pm at Gorgie Mem, Edinburgh, Wednesday 25th November 7pm Dundee and Thursday 26th November Ayrshire for our free Dads Antenatal Workshop (sign up via the links). These relaxed, dads-only session offer practical advice and hands-on experience, including changing nappies and bathing a baby, while giving you the chance to meet other expectant dads and build confidence ahead of your little one's arrival👶💙
First Aid - Our popular First Aid workshops especially for parents of young children are back this month with 3 workshops available. Tuesday 3th November 7pm in Glasgow and Tuesday 10th November at 6.30pm in Kilmarnock. Spaces are limited so please sign up via the links.
Hairstyling - We're trying something new with our hair workshops in Edinburgh! Join Greg at the Gorgie Mem on Thursday 19th November at 7pm to learn some practical skills in how to do pony tails, plaits and put up hair. You’ll get the chance to practice on hairdressing mannequin heads to give you the confidence to try on your own child at home!
Sleep - Sometimes children need help to get a good night's sleep. Sign up for our next workshop on Wednesday 25th November at 7pm online to hear hints and tips on how to help your wee one. There will be time for questions and answers as well.💤
Our workshops are free to attend but donations are always welcome! They are a great way to build confidence while spending quality time together.

Other support
As always we’ll be providing one to one support in Edinburgh, Ayrshire, Tayside and Glasgow, as well as peer support for New Dads through our PS service.
Kiltwalk 2027 dates announced
Ready to be part of something special? Join Team Dads Rock next year for Kiltwalk! Every Kiltwalk has different walking distances to pick from, with anything from 3 to 23 miles, so there’s a distance to suit everyone. Locations/Dates: Glasgow - 24 & 25 April, Aberdeen - 6 June, Dundee - 15 August & Edinburgh - 12 September

October Round-up
We started hosing a new Glasgow group for dads with wee ones under 2 at Merry Go Round in Strathbungo! It’s on every Tuesday at 10am - welcome to our new Glasgow families!
Thanks to Bloomsbury who donated some books - the Letters to our Sons by Stephen Graham and Orly Klein. If you’d like to borrow a copy just let a member of of the team know! It’s a collection of personal, heartfelt letters with reflections on identity, life lessons, love and values.
Thanks for your votes for the Lidl community fund - we were delighted to win £5,000! We also received a Fairer Life Chances grant from The National Lottery Community Fund to continue our peer support project for a further 3 years! 🎉
We were delighted to hear the Government announce that for the first time ever, self employed dads and non birthing parents will get the right to statutory paternity pay! Thrilled that all our campaigning on this is making a difference. We’ll still be working with The Dad Shift and other partners to keep the pressure on for 6 weeks paid paternity leave for everyone.
