Summer of Fun

Join us for some awesome activities and bring your kids! Contact gordon@dadsrock.org.uk to sign up!

July 1st - Dean Castle Country Park - 3PM

Join us to explore the stunning woodland trails, head over to the animal park to see the resident deer, rare-breed sheep, and llamas, and let the kids run wild on the adventure playground. It’s completely relaxed—just a great excuse to get outside, let the kids burn off some energy together, and grab a coffee from the café. -  Meet at the Dean Road Car Park @ Dean Castle Country Park, Dean Rd, Kilmarnock KA3 7

July 8th - Kilmarnock Fire Station Visit - 3PM

This is a great opportunity for dads and their children to visit a local fire station, meet real firefighters, and learn more about the important work they do. You’ll get a chance to explore the fire engines, see the equipment up close, and maybe even try on some gear! @ Fire Station, 33 Campbell St, Kilmarnock KA1 4HL

July 15th - Dads & Kids Football - 3PM

No better way to burn off some energy, score some goals, and skip cooking dinner? Bring the kids down for a casual afternoon of football at My5s Football. We have a pitch to ourselves for 2 hours followed by a well-earned pizza and drinks.  Don't worry if you haven't kicked a ball in years—the focus is entirely on having fun! @ My5s Football, Kilmarnock, KA1 3XF (Behind ASDA)

July 22nd -  Dads & Kids FootGolf Caprington - 3PM

Leave the golf clubs at home—all you need is a pair of trainers and your best kicking foot.  If you haven't played before, FootGolf is a fantastic, casual sport that replaces golf balls with footballs—no experience or special skills required! We’ll head out in groups to tackle the course, which takes approximately 1 hour to complete. Because of the length of the stroll around the greens, this event is best suited for children of walking age. @ Caprington Golf Club, Ayr Rd, Kilmarnock KA1 4UW

July 29th - Dick Institute Trip - 3PM

Join us for a visit to The Dick Institute where we'll see everything from Samantha the Dinosaur and Brian the Lion to a 400-million-year-old scorpion fossil and old-school prison uniforms. @ The Dick Institute, Elmbank Ave, Kilmarnock KA1 3BU

Aug 5th - Kay Park Play Day - 11AM - 3PM

We are thrilled to be part of this year's National Playday celebrations at the Kay Park Fun Day in Kilmarnock! Playday is the UK’s national day for play, highlighting just how vital it is for our kids' health, happiness, and creativity.  Kay Park will be completely transformed into a massive playground with free activities, including creative zones, sports, messy play, and adventure trails. The Dads Rock team will be right in the middle of the action, and we’d love for you to come over, say hello, and join in the fun! @ Kay Park, Kilmarnock KA3 7AZ

One to one support

At Dads Rock, our one-to-one support is here to make sure no dad has to figure it out alone. We offer a friendly, non-judgmental space where you can talk openly, build your confidence, and get practical help with everything from baby care to managing the daily pressures of life. Whether we’re meeting for a coffee or helping you navigate local services, our focus is on your wellbeing and your family.

“Ryan listens to me and understands what I’m trying to say and then helps me to figure out what I need to do. He never tells me what to do or judges me for the decisions I make, I’ve not had that before”

Dad Trips

We also go on Dads Days Out! Another fantastic chance for dads and their kids to get out of the house and meet up with others for some much needed fun. Please see our Dad Trip page for details or upcoming activities: DadTrips

About our Ayrshire Health and Social Care Partnership

Dads Rock is working with both the North and East Ayrshire Health and Social Care Partnerships with funding from the Scottish Government Whole Family Wellbeing Fund to provide much needed support to Dads in Ayrshire.

In a first of its kind partnership our Dads Rock workers are embedded in the Children and Family Health Teams helping Dads to be the best that they can be and support them to give their children the best possible start in life. This means working with Health Visiting, Midwifery and Social Work to provide bespoke 1-1 support for dads and their families at home and in the communities of the North and East Ayrshire.
